Saraswathi Ranganathan, Veena Artiste and founder of Ensemble of Ragas presents “RAGA MAQAM: Project MiddleEast for a Kinder World. One Stage. One Music. One Community. The power of music cuts across all barriers, and this concert integrates Raga with Maqam, a musical exploration of history and a blending of cultures. This is a collaboration with renowned Cello-Oud artiste from Syria Kinan Abou-Afach and Oud-Frame Drum artiste Ronnie Malley from Palestine for a presentation of new original Raga-Maqam works—an exciting blend of music with Peruvian Middle Eastern dancer Marisela Tapia.
