The Trust for Public Land
Through our Parks for People Initiative, we are working in cities and suburbs across America to ensure that everyone–in particular, every child–enjoys close-to-home access to a park, playground, or natural area.
The Trust for Public Land’s recent Illinois work clusters in and around Chicago, whose motto, “Urbs in Horto”-“City in a Garden”-reflects a century-old tradition of urban parks. We have partnered with local government and community leaders to help Chicago recover this livable character, building new playgrounds and trails in neighborhoods that previously lacked access to green space.
