3rd Annual “Walk with Light”

p

Peoples Promenade

Make The 606 shine with light you wear or carry — an LED candle, glow sticks, or a string of lights you fasten to your jacket, stroller, or dog leash. No open flames, please.

4:00 – 5:30: Walk along the trail to Churchill Field Park. You can make your way there on your own, or join a festive procession that will step off from the Exelon Observatory at 4:00 p.m. Procession conveners include Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center, Free Street Theater, Quilombo Cultural Center and West Town Bikes. As you walk the trail, you might encounter a choir, giant bicycles, and animated chandeliers from Cabinet of Curiosities.

5:00 – 6:30: Festivities at Churchill Field Park. Enjoy a giant shadow puppet screen and illuminated obstacle course from Opera-Matic, and a performance from their bell choir, Kaiju Daiko drummers, and Full Moon Fire Jam. Gather around fire pits for s’mores, hot cocoa, churros, and community cheer.

Let’s illuminate The 606 together!
