Talk

For our March event, we’re asking the question:

Q.: What’s driving the linear park trend in Chicago and across the country?

A.: Miles of unused train tracks cut through urban landscapes around the world. Open space activists and city planners are finding ways to reclaim these industrial remnants for linear parks that bring much needed parks to the surrounding neighborhoods. What’s fueling the trend that helped build the High Line and The 606? Learn about new linear park projects underway: El Paseo and the Englewood Line in Chicago and the Queensway in New York.

The evening’s speakers include:

  • Aaron Koch and Ruben Ramales, The Trust for Public Land
  • Ben Helphand, Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail
  • Antonio Acevedo, El Paseo Community Garden
  • Anton Seals, Grow Greater Englewood

Delicious pub food and beverages will be available.
